Its quite rare that we get to make major decisions in our life, and when we do, its either we're cool and calm abt it, or all panicky and stuff. I know myself well enough that i don't get all panicky and stuff, but this time around, with so much other things happening at the same time. i can't help but to feel yea confused and frustrated.
I can't help but to think that i'm just trying to psycho myself into thinking that God's hands is in all this.. i'm safe and everything is going to plan, when in fact i'm just living in my own world. hmmm..
Or maybe i'm just thinking too much.
well not everything is going right since my trip from aussie.
i continue to ask God why, and hope that he listens.
well.. MAYBE there's a special calling for me.. i'm just ignorant.
MAYBE there's nothin special abt me.. i'm just playin along.
But really all i want is a touch from heaven. a touch from Him, that i know He's actually there.
my belief can only take me that far.
My efforts can't bring me anywhere.

haha no prizes for guessing what that is :))) anyway.. God is good! :p really what i have today is all of Him and none of self effort.. Point is, been playing the guitar for like a few years.. 5 or 6 probably.. haha didn't really feel that long! was rather shocked myself when i counted the no. of years i have been playing. Anyway, along the way, i picked up the bass! yea the bass like the one u see on the left

probably its because my bro bought it like a long time ago, lost interest in it, handed it over to me. heh.. SO, i didn't really play much of it till like a year ago when i was approached by the always cool, happening rockers of the ' ANGSTY ARTICHOKES ' hahaaa.. Since then, i had been playin it more consistently, faithfully.. but before long.. We had to disband because we each had our own lives to lead, own commitments.. priorities changed. But praise God!.. 2 of 3 got into another band.. leaving Drummer Huang flyin solo for a long time hahahha.. Anyway.i was one of the 2.
Sorry for the long story.. but i felt the HS urging me to write more heh.. woooo.
So, i hooked up with a group of friends i met on my first campus service. They were talking abt some music stuff.. band talk.. i was interested, so i joined in the conversation..
Low and behold, they had a band.. of annoited musicians. BUT they were lacking a bassist.. was it God at work? at that point.. i really didn't care.. as long as i get to play i'm happy :p
Movin on.. we started jamming regularly.. improving and learning more as we cont to grow not only as musicians, but as God's servants.. His channel to reach to the masses.. to bring usher them to worship.
We had fun indeed, but there were dry times where chemistry was just lacking.. however during this whole period of time, the band was always at the back of each musicians mind.. each cont. to grow, and He cont to use everyone individually for His work. be it in Cg or just worshipping alone..
Recently.. i went for an audition for music min. Truthfully, i think it didn't go smoothly.. neither was it an eye opening performance. it seemed like just normal playing to me.. made minor mistakes, talked back to karen.. the keyboardist.., just normal normal.. nothing spectacular. to add on to it, I had like probably 1 yr of nonsense bass experience, no formal training, been in church for probably 6-7 mth.. yea. odds are not really good u see, plus the waiting time for the audition really caused me to doubt a lot.. whether i should go for it, or just let it pass, thinking i'll nv get thru it..
However, 2 days later, Angie called and told me i got in. yep.
GOT IN! but truely.. All Honour and glory goes to Him!

What's the long story and all the loh soh history about then, u ask..
actually.. i dunno. haha but just felt like writing.. Wad i wanna type in for anyone to see, read and hopefully learn is that we won't know what journey we're in, until we piece the different parts together.. i'm still in the story.. hasn't ended yet. but i can piece the past.. and put tog a small picture of what the Lord has install for me in this season.. the bigger picture is His master piece. Our role is to know and believe that He paints us in His image.. more beautiful than words can describe, and nv will he let us be put us to shame. (psalms smth.. can't rememebr hahah ed will know)
My journey above was just how He placed the right ppl and events at the right timing of my life.
it pieces beautifully.. and really got me wanting and expecting more. :)

heh.. back finally .. didn't really have the mood to sit down to type my life story out.. but yea.. so many things have happened since i last posted an entry.. probably a brief summary of wad has happened.
First of all, All glory to god.. met someone really really special.. God sent :)
Been spending more time on the Word.. reading and worshiping. its really a new lifestyle for me.. coming from a very active background..but i'm loving every moment of it. Living each day just asking the Lord what does he want to do, giving thanks. have to cherish every moment cuz once school starts, have to be extra discipline... no more 'otot' le. haha
Hanging out with the ever crappy lionel.. nv once a dull moment. haha spent good times 'racing' in our vans down clementi to bukit batok, blasting our stereos with wndows wound down. fun fun.
planned trips for BKK and Sydney aust. wooo.. end june will be a shoppin trip at bkk, and early july.. Sydney for Hills conf. Can't wait to listen to each of the annoited speakers.. to check out the band! wanna be blessed and touched by His word! heh

there's probably a lot more.. just that i can't think of any now..
:):) God is so real.. my help in times of need, and there;s really nothin that can be compared to His love for us. all we have to do is to just receive. :) love it. haha

Had fun jamming. really addictive.. can't wait for the next session. Ever felt high without getting drunk.. thats how it felt.
Went for a 2 hour lan gaming after.. and lingkai's bday party. Good food, Good company. haven't really got anything to write abt.. i painted my nails pink! just for the occasion.. heh. pictures will be posted once i get my hands on it.
I really thank god for placing this grp of ppl around me.. after all the fun and laughter, they'll still be the same.. God loving ppl who never fail to give Him all the glory.

A new week ahead.. a rather hectic but fulfilling weekend passed. happy birthday ed.. hope u like ur present.
i kinda wished the weekend would nv end.. the thot of wakin up early on mon morning is not very enticing.
Sunday service was superb! ughh..although i was slipping in and out of dream land, i managed to catch bits of the msg.. heh. the worship was awesome.. actually.. probably the second time i remembered myself tearing..
first being the time i got poked in the eye by some bugger..heh
2 more weeks of teaching and probably i'd be leaving the school to try smth else. if there's anyone out there reading this.. and has a job vacancy somewhere.. heh u know who to call.
i think i'll miss the kids..although they haven't been with me for a long time.. but i guess this is my first official unofficial class.
Signed up with music min, NCC.. i pray everything goes well.. God's master plan nv goes wrong. just that the journey might require some perseverance..

Defining moment: the min i stepped out of the car to the briefing room with the tester.

i saw my instructor waiting for me at the door.. i was happy when i saw him. and thats a first.
i gave him a thumbs up sign and hurried up to the room..

First of all.. Glory to God :))
Secondly.. to my instructor. haah both of us have this weird love hate relationship.. hahaha as gay as it may seem but thats how it works man.. u pay the guy to teach u to drive! not to scold u for the 1.5 hrs with him.. no choice have to see him, but i really dreaded the time i have in his car.. Really glad all the lessons are over. haha.
Thirdly, to family and friends who were there for me. haha and to Ms lam.. special shout out to her. Nice of her to let me drive back in her car after cg on fri :))) although i wasn't very confident of doing so.. haha

First week in school, and im counting down to the no. of weeks left..i really wonder if teaching's really for me. I take my hat, cap, wadever can put on the head off to teachers man. Really really didn't know what they're going thru until i tried it for myself.

oh wells.. a new week ahead. :) things can only get better.
Edd's bday party on sat.. can't wait! haha till then.

As a teacher of course.. Mr Lee they called me.. and laughed when i told a class to call me sir! Sec 3 Express classes reminded me of myself back at yiss. nerdy nerdy.. sit at the back. hah
teenage girls nowadays are getting bolder! they're like queen of the class.. just happily shout around, and ask qns without raising hand.
Times have changed.. gone were the days where the Guys ruled the class. and Teachers given the respect of at least a bow at the beginning of any class hhaha

My first day was rather normal i guess for any relief.. I took 3 classes for E math. 3E1,E2 and 2N2. First tip of the day was that i had to be strict strict.. Don't let the kids step over u they said.. they being the other teachers of course. Hah.. so naive me went into the best sec 3 class and acted like a bully.. hahah no la.. not that bad, but yea i tried to be strict, not to let the noise level go up, to aim for perfect discipline.. It failed for the first 15mins.. and i didnt enjoy myself really.. So i gave it up and just whacked! Being a teacher is easy.. being a Good teacher is difficult..

So i had my sec 3 express classes.. both well behaved bunch.. then came along the 2N2. smart ppl with short attention span.. and they love to read the papers during my lesson.. i wonder why. hahhaa.
anyway.. i had difficulty handling them.. seriously. i'm quite sure they didn't know wad i was tryin to say to them at the end of the day.. hah it got so bad that i had to get them all to stand up at the count of 5!! oh mann.. haha but really i think that worked for only like 20 sec.. the precious 20 seconds of slience.. and then it all began again haha.. but was thinking.. If e kids dun make noise, jump around.. then smth's wrong mann.

Yea so.. thats abt it.. Thank god for a nice kind lady boss. haha nv give me extra work to do :)))))
wellss.. tmr's another day. really dunno wad's gonna happen next, but all i know is that He is with me all the way. thats all that matters.

WOOooo pink ic! finally got to see it once again.. after it was kidnapped by a highly organised err.. organisation! haha anyway.. it was just another day la.. except that i was saved the trip of going down to camp again on wed.. cleared everything today in a jiffy! heh..

Very Excited..
This feeling of steppin into a totally new arena..
Isn't really new to me.. but this time round its extra special :)
Because everything couldn't have happened if it wasn't for Him.
My application got thru at God speed man.. 3 days i got the confirmation alrd
It may, maynot be a calling.. but its worth a shot!
All i know is that whatever i do, even if its a mistake.. He'll prosper it.
I pray that all those around me will experience God's blessing such as i have.. or much much more rather :) and testimonials overflow.

ughh.. now everything on blogspot is in chinese!! waddsup man.. hah anyways.. had quite an eventful day today. First thing in the mornin i went to BBSS.. bukit batok sec sch to meet the HOD math.. yea regardin me reliefing a teacher who's going on course for about a mth.
Mixed feelings came pouring in when i stepped into the school.. mannn was i excited and nervous.. somehow or rather intimidated at the same time! the sight of so many kids running about, the noise, the wannabe 'bengs', the 'i couldn't care less' ah mats slackin at a corner.. reminded me of myself a few years back heh. Anyway.. really a big THANK YOU to Jasmine.. yea Nat's sis for introducin me to the hod and doin all the link ups.. heh yea so everything was going fine, had a talk with the teacher i was supposed to relief also.. she was really nice, but looked a little too 'kan jiong' for me.. hahah nobody likes a 'kan jiong' boss.. heh
then i went to check if my application with moe was thru.. it turned out that it hasn't been approved yet!! ughh.. so yea. situation now is that once that gets thru.. i'd be known as mr Lee for the next mth. yep .. trusting god for it mann.. thanks to pika for the prayer. appreciate it :)
Went for dental appt after that with 2 going to ord personnel as well.. haha well.. lets say we were quite the b*stard when it came to cuttin queue.. oh well.. no one can stop us civilians anyway.. heh. but then i had to give it to the duty personnel..

Back from a Mth in thailand. Personally, i didn't experience any life changing or impactful event to share or pen down.. But i can truely say that God's favor was present every single day i was there. i won't elaborate every single bit but, i'm just glad that i was remembered for being a 'kilat' FO by my boss.. that meant "a 'power' FO" haha.. dun think that helped much. Hoewever during that trip, i went with this verse frm psalm 1, held close to my heart.. " ... and everything we do shall prosper!" hmmmmmm.. quite self explanatory.. heh god is good.. amen!
anyway,its great to be home.. among friends and family. Good to be in the house of the lord once again! did some catching up with eddy and gang.. ed and i shared some great stuff man.. and what he said i'll remember for life. Not too comfortable typing it out here..
Don't really know wad to type.. just that, i've learnt to cherish the friendships made here.. held and sustained by His grace. Thank God for the few.. kev, kim, nat, eddy, ferris, Pika, ashley n jo. :) Year of acceleration guys.. Dream big, and live expecting more from Him.

Finally.. the last exercise of my entire ns life.. i've enjoyed the past 2 years serving the army, be it spending time in the humid jungle of LCK catching mosquitoes, walking in swamps, or running around camp training for various competitions, doing paperwork for 'wayang' sake.. hah unforgettable memories. However, i'm glad that all of it is almost over.. means more time for God, cycling, guitar etc etc..
BUT before that.. e next 1 Mth in thailand isn't going to be easy.. friends i've grown close to wouldn't be around. No guitar for a MTH!!! no Church service.. no cycling.. swimming..terrible x 03 :(
heh i'll miss everyone.. thank god for my ipod.. haha can put photos.. oh wells.. not in e mood to do anything now.. I need to listen to some sermons..

hello once again. This is going to be a short entry.. one to give thanks to the ppl around me and God. yep.. I had a great time yest, all thanks to my bro Eddy and gang. Special thanks to both CGLs coach sian hua and andy for turning up, both leaders so precious to me. Dinner was great, although i wasn't in the mood for oily stuff haha.. its the company that counts.
Presents and gifts aside, the thing that touched my heart the most was the prayer by everyone at the stairwell. Haha first thought was y so secretive, but guess wad.. the effect there was amazing.. I told the guys about the accoustics haha but i've yet to further explain.. it felt as though there were thousands of ppl praying at the same time.. i heard it very very clearly.. amazing. and yea.. i was sweating, as usual, but e presence of God was there alright.
I really thank god for the bunch of God loving ppl he placed around me. every single one of them.
Today's gonna be family day.. will be staying at home to spend my time with my parents, while the rest of my bro and sisters attend the leadership workshop. Tmr, another gathering with my army friends.. heh looking forward to it. another group of friends whom i've grown close to over the past 2 years. oh happy belated bday huanmin.. haha 23rd jan. just one day older.. :))
Happy bday to my bro as well.. too bad u can't be out here on ur 21st hehehe enjoy it at camp.

Yest's worship was great, and it'll only get better amen.. and as usual, coach sian hua started off with ' todays msg is actually nothing much, quite short..' hehe i love him mann, He's a great leader, one of a kind.
So, went swimming over the past few days. All thanks to the weather, i got much darker and my dear friend Aiwei said i reminded her of chocolates.. hahah Other than that, well.. bumming around at home, accompany my parents, play with the dog.. wad to do, Clearing Leave alrd hehehe.. joash will be sad to hear this but yea.. have to say it.. ORD LOH!!!
Hmm.. Anyway, i had a chat with Charissa on our way back on thurs after bs.. yep something she shared impacted me quite a bit. About stepping out of our comfort zone, and there's no one else but God to turn to. Then at the same time, Eddy sent me an sms regarding today's worship session at marina. Man.. It was God alright, wasn't just coincidence.
What happened was Kev and I were supposed to play dring worship for the poly cg outing today at marina. For me, I'd rather play with him than alone or with someone else because i feel that there's an annoiting when both of us play, and that i'm not ready to like go solo.. Anyway, kev then has to attend a reunion dinner tonight.. yep, so i was kinda half hearted alrd. Told eddy that i didn't want to play for worship cuz he isn't playing. Playing with kevin was playing in my comfort zone. ummmmm..
yea wadever it is now, i'm trusting God for good time of worship later. Be it playing alone or with another person, it'll be all Him. grace grace.. Thanks edmund, kev and Xue Ling for the encouragments! thank god for u guys. :)

What Is Heat Rash?

But the Ex was kinda 'special' for me.. haha can't say the same for the rest though. i managed to catch some sleep for the first 2 days while the rest were walking walking walking.. No i wasn't 'twanging' ( slacking ).. i was given a different task. yea.. hahha grace grace! and being the 'old bird' I was given more tasks.. Truthfully.. I wouldn't have been able to complete my mission easily without knowing that i have God on my side. If not, u'd see the old joshua in action.. all self effort and nothing else.. desperately trying to get the job done.. haha and most of the time screwing up most of the mission.. yep. My God is a good God :)))
Went for campus today.. Psalms 1.. Key verse of the day.. something simple i took home after that..Mediate on His word day and night.. delight in the law of the Lord.. not that of the world. and, best part, We'll be like trees planted on the water side, our leaves will never wither and everything we do will prosper!! amen amen.. everything.. including the mistakes we make.. amazing man.

Hmmm.. Somebody told me something today that made a lot of sense.. That a relationship consists of three parties.. Me, my partner, or whoever and God. yea might just be one simple sentence, but it got me thinking no doubt.. I thought about XY.. my ex. i learnt one simple thing in that relationship.. without God, no matter how much u love the person, the relationship won't last.. God's love for us is unfailing, and ours.. hah totally the opposite. but then its not restricted to bgr or sorts.. but also to our families, friendships..
Heh oh well.. thot i'd share it with whoever is reading :))) u learn smth new everyday! Wells.. my day started quite well.. Woke up early to camp for a meeting with my FSO in the aftn.. didn't tell us that the meetin would be for a short while.. like 15 mins.. hahah the whole world had to wait for him till lunch time. and so i booked out shortly after the meetin.. heh. He has been good to me.. really.. i'm blessed with good bosses, great collegues.. and favour among the others.. really really give all thanks to Him. I've been blessed with a collegue who lives near me and drives to work everyday ( so i tom pang everyday haha).. a boss who entrusts me to do my job well and best part.. OFF anytime mann.. haha the rest don't give me much problems.. heh.. Thank u Abba! ;)

anyways, this week was rather interesting. I went for a road march with the Coy i'm supporting, 5SIR, for those who dunno wad i'm talkin about.. it means i went for a stroll at pulau tekong.. yea anyway.. i wasn;t supposed to be there la.. extra a bit.. just wanted to condition myself.. but wad i thot was just a simple ex actually meant a lot to my OC.. yea.. at the end of the whole thing he came up to me and told me.. ' Hey joshua, i really appreciate you coming all the way down here just for a road march.' i was quite shocked, honestly.. heh I was doing it more for myself.. but he came up to thank me. Favour Favour...
yea i Changed my guitar strings like 2 days ago.. woooooo!!! Felt brand new.. nice bright springy sound, and no more rusty, hard to slide metal strings.. heh. love it.. its like giving new life to the guitar.. Brought it to Cg Yest and today. think only my buddy kev knew that i changed the strings.. ahha
hmmm.. Worship for NScG was really awesome, quote eddy.. His presence was there.. haha at least Me and eddy felt it.. i felt as though i did not wanna stop playing.. i could go on forever! Really pray that every worship from this year 2006 onwards will be as annoited or much much more so as compared to today's..Amen!!

Went for a wedding today, was a swordbearer at the wedding.. and due to my height, i was placed right in front.. ughh haha but all went well man.. i had fun, and i trust the rest too. Blogs.. why do we blog.? heh my bro was shocked when he saw that i started blogging.. haha my answer to u bro. i wanna tell the world how God has been working in my life, show them that our God is a real and faithful god.. Nothing is too small for him! For eg. Last week i had my driving lessons.. really screwed up.. demoralised me to the max, instructor scolded me for reckless driving.. hahah so much so that i dreaded driving! its the same kinda feeling when u have to go back to school.. ure forced to do so.. ughhh ANyway, as i was thinking back about wad i did wrong and how i could improve.. Smth told me not to look at your own ability.. but look to Him. Mann.. We can't do anything right.. haha but He can !! and so yest before i started the engine of the car, i blurted out a quick prayer in tongues haha had the instructor staring at me for a moment.. but who cares!! Heh.. and trust him to be the most faithful, all went well! haha small things like these really reminds me of God's love for 'Aku' each and everyday.
Superband! have been practicing the Ching Chong song for jammin on fri.. 'wen rou' by mayday.. praying hard for kev mann.. cuz the solos aren;t going to be easy heheh.. Actually that song was introduced to the band by yours truly.. heh came across it when i was in my collegue's car. The first thought that came to my mind when i heard it was.." sounds good.. think SOG can make it better.. " hahha.. by God's grace la huh..
Ok.. So '05 has passed, i wanna shout out to all i've gotten to know last year only.. Thanks for being a friend to me.. but most importantly.. its because of u guys that i got to see the miracles of christ in my life everyday.. It was there all along, except that i didn't care about how much God loves me. Love you all for tolerating with the guitar playing hahah pray for kev and i that we get better! Amen!! haha and special thanks to nat and kim.. yea it all wouldn't have started if not for u two who pulled me to cg! Its wasn't coincidence.. God at work, don't u think? heh
and i wanna thank my mum my dad my sis my bro my dog.....haha oh wells. it just goes on and on and on..

Oh my.. a great show i must say.. depicts the story of jesus so closely.. loved the part when the Lion said to peter(the main kiddo character).. It is Finished! Wow.. the devil has been beaten! Praise him haha.. really felt like shouting 'AMEN!!!' at that point hahah.
anyway.. had a great day today. 2 very weird things happened (thank god only 2..) Firstly.. went for a morning swim and this i dunno indian/malay guy came and intro himself to me.. i was like hahah ok too bad it isn't a gal hehehe anyway, back to the story.. it went like that.. type in dialogue version.
Xavi (i think thats his name) :" Hi, my name's Xavi. Wad's ur name?"
JosH :" Hello.. hi i'm joshua..."
X :" so do u come here to swim often?"
J:" yea.. i stay just across the street.. how abt u?'
X:' oh i stay at jurong west..'
J:' ook... i thot there's a pool around that area.. so why come here?'
X ( at this time he has this funny perverted smirk on his face ) :' oh because i always have this fantasy that i'd pick up a chick here. i once had a crush on this singer i met here in the pool but she's married already. hahaha!'

yea so i met Choy and Pf for lunch today.. went around to find for some good food. Choy's treat.. heh.. sure whack.went Marche' and had like 60 buckeroos worth of food.. wooOOoo Thanks Choy! And so the journey continues.. We walked to Bras Basar.. where Swee Lee was. WOOOoo was the queue long.. they were havin a 50% SALE on ALL ITEMS!!! OMG!! I saw this guy who came out with a FENDER J BASS.. sigh.. next year.. u'll see Mr Joshua (ORD LOH) walking out of there with a Bass guitar in his hands! haha

so after choy and pf, i was supposed to meet edwin.. had to cross the road frm SA Cathedral to raffles city.. Lo and Behold.. Weird and freaky occurance no. 2.. Anyway, i was dressed in a green top and Kahki Berms, sandals too.. then was crossing the road when suddenly i saw this other fellow wearing exactly the same (sandals too!) as me crossing.. we stared at each other for a while.. wah super awkward man.. felt like lightning was going to strike someone man hahah sigh this kinda things dun happen everyday.. unless i'm in camp la. when everyone is in green. but that doesn't count heh..maybe its a sign.. maybe i should buy 4d.. maybe i should just shuddup and continue my long and boring story haha..

so dear dairy hahah.. bleh freakin girly talk.. i met eddy, nat , ester, aiwei and guest of the day Ashley at ps.. haha Ashley reminds me of 2 fellows combined.. celine tan and pris combine haha she's as innocent as celine and as chatty as pris! and she's my senior from ACJ haha coincidence?? but a very very glorious gal man.. heh Reminds me so much of my JC days.. sigh. Miss it man.. lucky edmund hahhaa..
